Beth Knight   -

As a church, we are excited about how God is working among and through us.  One aspect is seeing people excited to lock arms as they seek to partner with us in Church Membership.  If you are curious about what it means to partner with Knollwood in Church Membership or just want to learn more about that, consider signing up for our upcoming Next Steps Class.

Please read Olamide and Debo’s testimonies and take some time to get to know them over the next couple of weeks.

Olamide Adebiyi

I was raised in a Christian home, where it is mandatory we have daily family devotion and attend church on Sundays. To my understanding, that was the definition of being a Christian until one day in my Sunday School (I was about 10 years old), I heard of the need for to make a personal decision to follow Jesus. That message changed my life, it rings in my ears and that encounter will always be fresh in my memory. The teacher taught us from the book of Revelation 20 telling us that the salvation experience ensures we have our name written in the book of life. That day I asked Jesus to come into my life and take the lead. It dawned on me that my parents salvation experience could not save me and I needed to make my own decision. I asked Jesus for forgiveness and turned my life to him.

I realized that I needed to share my new life with people, I became bold at that young age about telling people around me how everyone needs to have a personal relationship with Jesus. This experience changed my everything about me, I trusted more in Jesus. I tell him about my fears, aspirations and ask for His guidance each time I need to make any decision in any aspect of my life. Jesus is real to me. I see him as my partner in everything and commune with Him like He is right beside me. He has helped me through several challenges and He has promised never to leave nor forsake Him. Jesus is truly my Lord, Savior and best friend. My desire is to walk more closely with Him and love Him more dearly while I continue to live a life that pleases Him and draws other to Him. With the help of the Holy Spirit I am learning to be patient and wait on Him. My utmost desire is to reign with Him in glory.

Adebowale (Debo) Adebiyi

I was led to Christ by my elder brother on the eve of his wedding and I have enjoyed the grace of God in my life. Before I became a Christian, I thought once you are determined and focused, you could get anything done without God’s factor and believed only weaklings needed to pray to God. However, My relationship with Christ has (and still is) shown that God’s mercy supersedes any other thing. This has impacted on my relationship with people and attitude generally to life (not by might nor power but by my Spirit, says the Lord).

I pray to continue to reflect Christ’s life in my character and reaction to situations, and particularly pray to be actively involved in spreading the gospel and making my life be a true story of how God works in and through a man.
