Good Friday and Easter Songs
Good Friday and Easter Songs
With Easter fast approaching I wanted to send out two songs that we will be singing as a church. During this time of remembering and celebrating Jesus death and resurrection as he paid the price for our sins through his perfect sacrifice on the cross and his glorious resurrection showing the sufficiency of the sacrifice.
The first song we will be singing is “His Glory and My Good” by City Alight, a song that highlights the purpose in all things to be God’s glory, yet His good working purposes for us that we would become more like Christ through the hardship and suffering we face in this life. Ultimately, it fixes our eyes on the cross, the most horrendous injustice that could happen, and yet God uses it for His glory and for our salvation. Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
The next song is “Sunday is Coming” by Phil Wickham. A beautiful narrative song of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Though Jesus died on Friday, we look to the resurrection and now Jesus return with great hope and anticipation. I encourage you to read through the narrative in Matthew 26-28!
Have a listen to these songs as we prepare our hearts, minds and souls for our worship gathering!
