Prospective New Members: Jacob Gibson

Cata Albarracin   -

As a church, we are excited about how God is working among and through us.  One aspect is seeing people excited to lock arms as they seek to partner with us in Church Membership.

Please read the testimony of Jacob Gibson. Take some time to get to know him over the next couple of weeks.

If you are curious about what it means to partner with Knollwood in Church Membership or just want to learn more about it, consider signing up for our upcoming Next Steps Class.

Jacob Gibson

I was born May 24, 1985. I have an identical twin brother Philip and a younger brother named Matthew. We all have bible names & we grew up in a Christian home. At the age of 5, my mom and dad divorced and we stayed with my mom. At that time, I felt no sense of security in my life other than My Papa and nana were there for us every day and they took us to church every Sunday & I even accepted Jesus Christ into my heart but I really had no idea about Jesus & the gospel.

Growing up I didn’t feel the need for anything to do with Christianity & to be honest, I hated God. The hatred in my heart led me to a life of violence, thievery, sex & drugs. Throughout the years of living my life like that, I had many situations where I felt so desperate, alone and scared. In those times, God always placed someone or something in my path to bring me closer to him but I ignored the signs.

In December 16, 2014 I made the decision to get clean from drugs. Moving forward to the fall of 2022, me and my fiancé split up and the heartbreak brought me back to God and I started attending Knollwood & it was then I truly started learning about the bible and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The word “gospel” means good news. It is the news about who Jesus Christ is and how he took on the penalty of our sins on the cross. It is out of God’s grace he sent Jesus and grace is given to me by faith as I repent my sins and turn to Jesus. Today I absolutely love & trust Jesus & I know that I am never alone and that I was never alone. Today I dedicate my life to Jesus & sharing the Gospel.
